My teaching philosophy stems from the question: How can I help students find joy in creative musical practices?

While keeping joy and creativity the main focus during lessons I find a balance between the student's interests and fundamentals. I help students find a consistent practice routine specific to their needs in order to better themselves and to develop as well rounded musicians. To me being a well rounded musician means feeling comfortable in a variety of genres, knowledge of music theory, a good ear and the ability to improvise (come up with music on the spot!).

Lessons can cover any of the following areas:

1) music theory
2) learning songs
3) improvisation
4) reading music
5) ear training
6) scales/chords
7) song writing
